Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario

A Division of the Ontario Hockey Federation and the Canadian Hockey Association

MEMORANDUM

Date: February 9, 2001

From: Jason Bonnyman

RE: BladeNET Communications Inc.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am the General Manager of the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario. The Alliance provides administration and scheduling for over 26,000 Minor hockey players and represent 21 centres throughout Southern Ontario. We are one of the seven Member Partners of the Ontario Hockey Federation, a Branch of the Canadian Hockey Association.

Last fall, the Alliance was invited to participate in a Pilot project being conducted by BladeNET Communications Inc. on behalf of the Canadian Hockey Association. The Pilot was originally to relate to BladeNET’s on-line registration system but, through no fault of BladeNET’s, by the time the Pilot was launched, most of our centres had completed their registration process.

However, those that were exposed to it were extremely positive about its design and functionality. It is clearly something that our centres would wish to use in the future.

As a sideline to, but not part of, the Pilot, we asked BladeNET to provide us with an on-line scheduling, scores and standings system for this season for the 5,600 players in our competitive (non-House League) divisions. That system was fully utilized by our office and by all our centres. I can say without hesitation that it was an unqualified success. The system is custom-designed for hockey and takes into consideration all the variables which one could anticipate encountering throughout the season. We found that it worked virtually flawlessly and gave us everything that we expected and more. Perhaps the best indication of its success is the fact that it now attracting over 9,600 hits per day!

Our relationship with BladeNET and its people was superb. Their service level could not have been better and everything we asked was done gladly and virtually instantly.

In summary, I am pleased to endorse BladeNET’s products and service. If the rest of its products are as impressive as those we have seen, it represents an ideal suite of tools for hockey administrators. As well, not only are the BladeNET people hockey administrators themselves, they also have a dedication to their product and to service that is most impressive.

The Alliance, and I personally, would be delighted to work with them in the future. If you would like to discuss any of the above with me, please don’t hesitate to call.

Yours very truly,

Jason Bonnyman
General Manager
